CampusTweet – see tweeters by college campus

allows you to join your school to be listed and tweets shown in a college directory.  The service itself is still in beta, and users seem to be adding themselves to the listing.  The main goal is to allow you to find other people on Twitter easier when searching by college they attend/attended.

You browse the schools alphabetically or be selecting them by state.  A side note, once inside the state view they are randomized, not alphabetical under each state listing as one would expect.

Top campuses and top students/alum are listed down the right on the homepage.  In the main view, you get a listing of the top users of the 6 top schools in a grid format in the left portion of the screen.  You will see the number of people pr school listed.

If you click on a user or school itself, further information is shown.  A person will show the number of followers, tweets and how many schools they made themselves part of.  If you choose by school you get the latest tweets from those that listed themselves and a tab for the top students/alumni.

Joining the service utilized oAuth and asks you to select alum or current student.  I will ask what state and what school and you are forced to send a tweet to complete the process.  You do not have to take their text for the tweet so no fear there.  it also defaults a checkbox to follow their account on Twitter, which is up to you to uncheck.
