TweetWhen – gauge when to retweet for best results

TweetWhen , from HubSpot, was picked up by @Alanlepo and we had to check it out.  If you ever wondered when your tweets had the biggest impact, this site attempts to show you just that.

Sample report courtesy TweetWhen

You simply enter your Twitter username (if you are a protected Twitter stream you will not be able to use the service) and an optional email address.  I checked to see why they ask for the email address optionally and no clue is given.  I presume for a mailing list.

It will then grab your last 1000 tweets to analyze.  Smartly it also says to register for an upcoming webinar while you wait.  Great marketing move.  As for myself I was told that Monday’s at 10am is my best time.  There is a link to tweet that out, of course.

TweetRings – your favorite tweet on your finger

Tweet Rings takes the idea of the perfect tweet and emblazes it on steel, titanium or silver for you to wear.  Scary I know, but true.

Your favourite Tweet wrapped around your finger

What’s a tweet-ring? 140 characters, super sharp engraved on both sides of a ring

I don’t know about you, but unless it is an actual wedding proposal via tweet, would you want one on a ring?

Select a twitter message, or create your own text. For example, put the tweet on one side, and on the other the sender, date and time. Or perhaps your personal motto on both sides. Anything is possible, within the 140 characters of a twitter message.

So head on over and pick out the ring for your loved one.  Or not.

Retweet Rank – find any users rank in being retweeted

Retweet Rank allows anonymous or authenticated lookup (via oAuth) on the retweetability of a user.  The formula seems to be easy.  It is the ratio of the number of times a person is retweeted.  I am not sure how the percentage helps you.  I imagine the more your followers followers retweet you is even better, no?

The do run an ad down the right side when you use the service.  Nothing major, but at least they are trying to monetize.

TweetMiner – content discovery for Twitter

I ran across TweetMiner and was intrigued that it was a tool that could bring RSS news feeds in and allow single click tweets right from the content.  The goal is to search and mine for web content that you then easily share with followers.  Once again you become the micro-community search tool for your followers.

There is both a web and desktop client available and demo videos to help you grasp how it all works.  Adding a feed uses Google keyword search to build the feed and the you start bringing in news articles that can be instantly scheduled.  You may also schedule them for somewhere in the future.

Now there is a few plans, from free to Max with varying costs and features.  the number of feeds you can bring and and using your own bit.ly account are some of the things you end up paying for.  Free accounts are only allowed 5 searches to generate RSS while the Max gives unlimited.  You get the idea.

echoTweets – your tweets instantly multiplied

echoTweets states their service will automatically and instantly have your tweet retweeted by numerous other accounts on Twitter.  How it does it was an interesting read.

  1. The first choice is linking your numerous Twitter accounts so when one posts, the others you have send the same tweet.  Like a ping.fm for multiple accounts on Twitter.
  2. The second choice is to have your fans and friends sign up with their website or some code on your blog that will automatically pull your tweets and retweet them.  An automated rebroadcast based on the originator.  Not a bad idea if you always want to share what someone says.
  3. The third and final choice will access paid Twitter users with influence.  The cost per tweet for your message to be rebroadast is based on thier TwitterRank and you can choose geographic, interest, followers and even maximum cost when choosing paid Twitter users.

I am sure there is better ways to go about this, and I am not sure you would want to retweet everything someone says.  Paying to get your message out? That is a whole other matter, because it makes business sense for the users to make money that way.

Take a look and let us know if you use it and what your reaction is.

Twaxed – the funniest tweets as rated by you

Twaxed gave me a laugh as I made this entry.  Reports say that people tweet boring stuff and that is why Twitter sucks.  Well they certainly tweet some hilarious stuff also.

You are able to vote up or down the tweet and even retweet.  I didn’t like they format of the retweet, but I understand why they did it.  You get a RT and the Twitter name with #twaxed and a new bit.ly link.  So the original tweet isn’t sent.  I know space is always an issue, but I would like to clean that up myself.

A good, fun read.  A time waster? Maybe.  But we always need a break.

TwiXtreme – the sweetest BlackBerry client?

TwiXtreme touts itself as an ad free, cool client for BlackBerry users.  The screenshots of the interface looked clean and easy to use. (I say this since I am just loading it for testing).

You can do quite a few things with the client:

  • re-tweet
  • see trends
  • get direct messages
  • find nearby tweets
  • upload pictures
  • search
  • favorite

It takes advantage of the screen real estate on the devices and the only restrictions seem to be the OS version, and not type of device itself.

The client is made by Xtremelabs, so you should pay them a visit and see if they have anything else you need since this is free.

MyTweeTopics – discover topics based on your hashtag

My Tweetopics is a free service that lets you discover the topics you tweet about based on your #tags and share them.  That about sums up what they have as a description on their homepage.  You log in via oAuth to utilize the service itself.

Any topic of your tweet that you include a hashtag will allow you to create a channel on the site as well as provide embed code for your blog.  When you first log in it gives you a URL of your channel as well as tries to follow them on Twitter and send a tweet you are using the service.  Kudos to them for allowing you to skip that if you desire, including following them.  I appreciate them letting me work with the site before following them.

I went ahead and skipped and my Twitter stream came up with how long ago I sent that tweet, the ability to favorite, post a comment email or retweet it also.  I imagine had I picked a hashtag it wold have rebuilt the channel.  You can see mine right here.

You can see the latest topics and tweets from some tabs above the channel as well as your recent topics on the right panel.  The embed code was a tiny button that provided a pop-up with the required script.  It did not look like you could change the size or colors of the embedding yet.

This site comes from Arktan which has channels around all of the social sites I found by clicking around the About and Help pages.  So there is a background in this ability with the developers and it was nice to see them specialize in Twitter.

TweetingTooHard – making fun of self loving tweets

TweetingTooHard (via @NikkiPilkington today) made me laugh right away.  It allows you to nominate and see tweets where the person tweeting basically talks about how good they are.

From money, to looks to just plain self loving.  You can retweet/reshare your favorites and even follow that person via xml (RSS) feeds.  Commenting on each tweet is also allowed.  You can see the following:

  • whats hot
  • top ranked
  • random
  • newly added

To rate each one, you give it a backpat, or virtual pat on the back to that person.  The number one ranked tweet shows the person saying the more popular they get the more people hate them.

Humorously, FeaturedUsers (that we talked about yesterday) is a sponsor on this site and runs ads.  I also entered this posting under games, because it isn’t a tool, it is just fun.

tweetreach – how far did your tweet go?

Tweetreach will search for current tweets you sent by hashtag, link, keyword or other search operator and see how far out it spun.  It only goes back 50, due to some cost that twitter charges to see the full report.  You can apparently buy this report form them.

Searches did take a minute or so to compile and I did not get results from a tag I know I used in April.  So I chose one I used today to see the results.  If you combined the reach of Corvida and myself from the right side listing of people that carried that term, we hit over 5000.  not bad at all.

They give a nice graph showing tweets, retweets and replies to give you an idea on how the trend is spreading.  Then another wheel graph of total exposure.

It is also a good way to see who is using your content as their own feed on Twitter.  I certainly found some :-)
