Twitter App: Upload Twitter Photos To Flickr Using Tweetie 2

Are you tired of waiting for developers and Apple  to update twitter clients for photos with better photo services? Ever wanted the option to upload photos to your Flickr account instead of Twitpic? You’d probably want to tweet them to. And you can, if you’re using Tweetie 2.

Nclude, the agency that redesigned Mashable, VentureBeat and Ogilvy PR web sites, developed a solution and it’s called Godzilla! This twitter client for photos let’s you upload photos to flickr from Tweetie 2. It’s really simple:

  • Go to Godzilla
  • Allow Godzilla access to your Twitter and Flickr account
  • Add  your unique url into Tweetie 2 settings  as  an “image service API endpoint.
  • Go try this Twitter client for photos right now.

Stop waiting on developers and Apple. Start uploading your photos to Flickr instead of the alternatives using Tweetie 2. Serious photographers needed.

TwiXtreme – the sweetest BlackBerry client?

TwiXtreme touts itself as an ad free, cool client for BlackBerry users.  The screenshots of the interface looked clean and easy to use. (I say this since I am just loading it for testing).

You can do quite a few things with the client:

  • re-tweet
  • see trends
  • get direct messages
  • find nearby tweets
  • upload pictures
  • search
  • favorite

It takes advantage of the screen real estate on the devices and the only restrictions seem to be the OS version, and not type of device itself.

The client is made by Xtremelabs, so you should pay them a visit and see if they have anything else you need since this is free.

RichTweets – full HTML tweets when 140 isn’t enough

Well it seems we just can’t stick with 140 characters of text.  We already have tons of links and twitpics.  Next up is RichTweets.  You can now have color, images, videos and widgets.  You are still generating a link for everyone to view, but the editor gives more flexibility in what gets shown.

They did utilize oAuth which is a nice start.  The editor is what you would find for any blogging platform, full richness.  Below that you have areas for tags and embed codes, with samples so you can’t go wrong.  The title is what get’s sent to Twitter with the link to the unique page from your tweet.

A nice idea but I want to stay in one place unless the link is to an article.  Not where I go to read your tweet.  If it is a video or picture, send me there.  Don’t create a whole new page to just embed it.

JustBought.it – crowd powered shopping with tweets

JustBought.it was a site I ran across before but didn’t bother listing.  Well their UI is updated and they have some more features in place that allows you to share information on something you just purchased.

It then will merge the tweet with a picture with a Google Map as best it can.  Shopping trends then show, by category, on the right showing what people are buying.  There was about eight current trends you could sort through.

You can rate, save to a lightbox or even share the tweet from the main page.  This instantly starts creating a community around shopping habits of you and your friends.

If you have an online shopping site you can “white label”  the site to include it in your store and have people share what they bought.

You are able to see the latest tweets on both the homepage and a tab, view tweets on a map to find shopping deals or hot spots and a link for featured shoppers that tweet what they buy.  Mashable had a good review of the site also.

TwitPrint – print your tweets including pictures

TwitPrint uses oAuth to connect to your Twitter account and gives you the option to print tweets from you and all your friends or just a particular one.  Optional settings allow you to pull Twitpic images and user images.  There is a beta area for keyword searches and a limit to the number of most recent tweets.

I went with the default settings and sent it off to work.  It pulled my and my friends last 20 tweets and a button to show the output.  The maximum amount of tweets you can pull is 3200.  When I clicked that is had a text window of the last 20 and automatically brought up the print options.

I ran it once more to include TwitPic images to see how it rendered them and they show below the tweet that references in them in a decent size.

I am not sure why you want to print all your tweets for any reason, but the site worked quite well.

TweetMojo – Extras For Your Tweets

TweetMojo is the latest service to hit the scene that provides Twitter users with the ability to share videos, photos, and documents via the site. While this might not be new to you, Tweetmojo has plans to “be able to broadcast exactly what your doing in real time via a live webcam stream as tweets!”  Sounds like a move into Twitcam‘s space.

Tweetmojo also have the ability to expand your tweet, or make it long through the use of a shortening url. If you’re looking to do a little more in just one place, Tweetmojo might be the perfect tool for you.

Twtgal – share photo galleries

Twtgal allows you to upload multiple pictures and then tweet a shortened URL to share them as a gallery.  A great way to show off a set.  You could simply make a collection on Flickr or other photos service and use some short URL for that gallery, but not every one would get that either.  The site itself summarizes the service as:

Just upload your pictures, get short url for the gallery, tweet it!
Your first tweet with gallery url will be imported and shown on the gallery page. Last 20 tweets about your gallery will be shown below the images. You can set the style of the gallery and few other options

I didn’t upload a set as most of mine are already on Flickr.  The bonus of the site was the lack of the requirement to provide them your Twitter password.  You can bookmark the admin link to your uploaded gallery to be able to get back to manage it.  You can upload a maximum of 14 images in the free account with 2mb limit for each picture.  Images all get resized to 800×600.

The site is ad supported and allows the galleries to be browsed or played in a slideshow.  Lastly you can also email pictures in and get a reply with the link for the gallery.

ScreenTweet – share videos, pictures and screenshots

ScreenTweet allows you to take most any video type and send it as a tweet link.  Videos, screenshots, photos and images is what you would expect.  But they also mention YouTube, Hulu and IgniteCast.

Before signing in, there is a public feed showing you the most recent postings using the service so you get an idea of what everyone is sharing.  You can retweet any video type you are looking at and they follow the Hulu style letting you dim the lights around the video so it stands out.

Shortcut URLS are done with scr.tw and can be shared socially from the right side.  Comments on each one can also be preformed on the site.

Keep in mind when logging in that there is a small checkbox that makes you automatically follow ScreenTweet.  While it is not required, it is on by default.

So while they do not use oAuth, I logged in with a test account and was greeted with a clean screen allowing me to upload anything to 5MB, send a MMS from a mobile device to a special email address they create on the fly or paste in embed code from most of the media sites.

Your profile information is brought in and shows on the right side and you also get the ability to see your feed as well as reply feeds now in the upper menu, instead of just the public feed.  The reply feed only shows replies on the ScreenTweet site, not Twitter replies.

Had I not checked the terms of service I forgot to check the settings area.  It allows you to change the email address you use for sending in MMS messages.  Mobile uploads can be disabled.  Now the terms of service mentioned the ability to control privacy on postings, but I did not find that setting anywhere.

Otherwise it is a clean site that functioned easily.  For being new the features worked well and had a lot to offer out of the box.

Snap2Twitter – send your BlackBerry pictures to Twitter

Snap2Twitter, from the company SnapMyLife, is found in the BlackBerry AppWord and will allow you take take pictures with the camera in your device and send to Twitter with comments and a link back to the photo.  They have a giant FAQ on all the capabilities the software and site offer, which was comprehensive.

It seems they support most every mobile device with a camera and all is aggregated into their site which is nice.  You do need to register for an account, for free, on their site also.

Some users reported data errors until they set their APN information correctly.

Tweetcaster – a new BlackBerry client challenger

TweetCaster brings a lot of functionality to the BlackBerry client world.  Most people currently use Twitterberry, with UberTwitter climbing quickly (my choice currently).  Well enter a new challenger.

TweetCaster does an excellent short video as an intro, showing off trends, searching and multiple Twitter account support toggling.  URL shortening is there with TinyURL and picture sharing is integrated.

The application itself is from Handmark tha tmakes plentry of other BlackBerry applications, so they are not new to this platform development which gives them some credibility right away.  You can get the client for free by singing in via Twitter on their site which sends a tweet you are trying the client.  Then it is your to keep.  A good way to use marketing balanced with a free client.
