Clean Tweets is a Firefox add-on that helps strip possible spammer results when you are searching trends or anything else in Twitter search. it has a few options to strip down the search results to help you get to the good information faster.
- It can delete any tweet that is from an account less that 24 hours old
- It can remove any tweet that has one person mentioning 3 or more (you decide) trending topics in tweets
- Manual deletion
From my test it didn’t slow search results at all and basically the tweets just don’t show. The issue is that spammers are creating quick accounts to place hot trends in the tweets to be seen and possibly clicked.
While we are smart enough not to click them, it crowds the results and makes it hard to find the right information.
